Mysterious Dog Illness

As some of you may have heard, there has recently been an illness going around in dogs. Here are some of the facts to keep you informed, and ways to keep your pet healthy to prevent the spread of any illness.

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, here is what is currently known about this illness. It is primarily occurring in the Portland, OR area, and is an infectious respiratory disease that has already reported 200 cases in this state alone (Larkin, 2023).

However, there are steps that can be taken to reduce the spread to your pet.

However, there are steps that can be taken to reduce the spread to your pet.

  • Be careful when coming into contact with other pets
  • Dog park, walks, boarding, etc.
  • Keep up to date with annual vaccinations & checkups
  • When on a raw meat diet, you will notice less visits to the vet but it is still important to go in for routine checkups.
  • Clean water & food source
  • Feeding a raw meat diet with clean ingredients will help improve the quality of your pets life and improve their overall health.
  • Only come in contact with pets you’re familiar with
  • Avoid any pets you’re unfamiliar with to prevent the risk of infection.
  • Keep up to date with giving baths and overall hygiene for your pet

If you would like your pet to have an extra immune boost consider adding our popular E-BARF Plus to your pet’s daily meal.
